The Public Employers Retirement Trust offers the following investments alternatives:
FIXED ACCOUNT
The Fixed Account is a portfolio of fixed-rate insurance contracts including, but not limited to, tax-deferred annuities and guaranteed investment1 contracts issued by highly rated insurance companies. The portfolio is managed by Governmental Benefits Group, Inc., a licensed Michigan insurance agency, under the direction of the PERT Board of Trustees. As compensation for services rendered, Governmental Benefits Group, Inc. and its employees may receive a commission for the sale of these contracts.
This investment is geared towards participants seeking to avoid market risk. This investment would be appropriate for those that are retired, nearing retirement, or for those that simply want to lower the risk levels of their portfolio. Participants can use this investment for portions of their portfolio to lower their risk exposure.
